Jorge Rivas, selected to represent individuals with disabilities, is a visually impaired person who enjoys traveling the world, and constantly looking for ways of improving accessibility. Jorge served on the San Diego Metropolitan Accessibility Committee in San Diego for over six years and has been advocating for people with disabilities in the San Diego region for over 10 years.

He also served on the board for the Blind Community Center, as well as the San Diego Association of Government Accessible Committee. He assisted the architects of the San Diego Association of Government in creating accessible public transportation stations throughout the county of San Diego. He is an entrepreneur and understands the ADA guidelines for a business owner.
